Discovering the colors of Zurich: The Zurich Opera House
Doesn’t it happen to you that on a cloudy gray day, you must wear something really colorful? To me it often does. I cannot allow the day to go on all in monochrome. I somehow feel like I rescue myself from reality and then look at the mirror and think: pfiu! not everything is lost.
I think culture comes to play a similar role. Think of all those ways of expression. All those thoughts that have to be said. They come from a deep feeling and result in singing, acting, writing, painting, photography and many other forms of art. They can be very similar to each other or even very different and still have something in common and make you belong: it is culture. It has the sacred goal to make life a bit more peaceful and beautiful.
So I asked myself: what are the colors of Zurich? Zurich please tell me, which are your stories?
On this first mission to inaugurate my blog, I thought of visiting the Zurich House of Opera “Opernhaus”. This majestic building at the heart of the main city existing as such since 1891.
I’ve never been to an Opera before and I found a very good proposal “Hippolyte et Aricie”, a tragedy musical from Jean-Philippe Rameau. The indoors, the scenography, the clothes, the orchestra “La Scintilla”, and of course… those powerful voices. It was without doubt a great experience.
How to dress or style yourself for this occasion? The Zurich House of Opera has no dress code, but people traditionally dress festive, I would say “comfortable/elegant”.
Your make-up shall be fresh. It can certainly include eye catchers, but shall result to be pleasant.
I didn’t wish to miss a detail and certainly wanted to take a closer look at the make-up of the performers, that is why I made sure to equip myself with Aomekie Opera Glass Theatre Glass with extendable Handle 3x. I felt like Julia Roberts on Pretty Woman. What a dreamer! One check for my bucket list!
